Software Engineer for Automotive Linux
Romania, Hybrid, Hybrid · Computer/SoftwareTremend is looking for an Software Engineer for Automotive Linux to join our team of bright thinkers and doers. You’ll use your problem-solving creativity to figure out our client’s most complex and challenging problems across different industries. We are on a mission to transform the world, and you will be instrumental in shaping how we do it with your ideas, thoughts, and solutions.
Your Impact:
- Develop, maintain, and test software components for automotive processors, including hypervisors, bootloaders, Linux, and middleware
- Collaborate with technical leaders in the OS domain to enhance the software architecture and ensure efficient performance
- Utilize modern software lifecycle management tools in an Agile environment
- Debug hardware and low-level software, including device drivers and real-time operating systems (RTOS)
- Work with source control tools such as GIT and change control tools to manage development processes effectively
- Adapt to customer priorities, switch between projects when needed, and be assertive in supporting your technical opinions.
Your Skills & Experience:
- Advanced C programming skills with hands-on experience in Linux programming
- Experience in debugging hardware and low-level software (e.g., device drivers, real-time OS)
- Proficiency with source control systems (GIT) and change control tools
- Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken.
Set Yourself Apart With:
- Knowledge of Linux kernel programming and experience with Linux networking stacks and drivers
- Familiarity with specific automotive applications
- Knowledge of ARM architecture and assembly language
- Additional experience in debugging hardware and low-level software (device drivers, RTOS) is a strong asset.
